These 19 inch wheels have always been available, why do you keep running the climate in manual, select Auto it will do everything much better for you. Cruise control uses the interior camera to ensure you are still in control, it will flash on the screen to apply some pressure on the steering wheel, if you don't do this it will disable auto pilot as punishment. Battery will only pre heat if you navigate to a Tesla super charger, this is one area that could do with a Tesla software update.
why those wheels??!
You will get about 10% more range if you have the 18” aero wheels. These are the 19” sport wheels.
IIRC your ID.7 scored 430km or so with the 77kwh battery? If so either something is off with the test or the ID.7 is really really good
Maybe the long range RWD will be on par? even so ID.7 is a much more practical car
👍
My one way trip head winds and some wet roads in northern France I did 158 miles in 2hrs at 293 Wh/mi or 253km in 2hrs at 183Wh/km. Two people and a boot full of holiday luggage, temp 12C ….last month. Car 2023 model 3 long range rear wheel drive. I was doing 200 miles / 320km between charges. 410km range.
So best EV still 1/3 off range off my 2016 insignia tourer which also bigger car .Also why on earth you still need all that apps and cards to pay charching ,on every gas station i pay with my credit car in every single gas station in europe ,why you cant just pay with card,no apps no nothing if you dont want
👏🏻🤡 So, you’re driving 1.800km with No break? 🤷🏻♂️ You’re such a fool 😂😂😂
For example I charge almost exclusively at home except for 1-2 times a year when I'm traveling by car, and almost never use the full range in one sitting. For me it makes sense to never have to go to a pump station and use free fuel from my roof. Both EV and ICE have their place in today's world.
also it's not the best EV nowadays
@@HanYou2 MAybe for you but i go 4-5 times a year on 3000km round trip and multiply times 1500 km round trips . I consider to buy EV just for a town drive , i was testing Chine Cherry EQ1 which is like smart car size car but with 4 seats and 30 kw battery, its 16.5k euro in my country.THat would be ok for city but i would not spend more money on EV which i cant use on long trips with out mayor dealbraker
@@HanYou2 What EV are you talking about? 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you! I would love to see your test of the Xpeng G6
Which one would you choose, ID.4 MY24 or Enyaq 85? Why?
thanks for the test, i need at least 700km range with 130km/h avg speed on highway :(
But why? You never stop to take a rest?
I would focus on quicker charging rather than longer range. Eg 10%-80% in 20%
Hi Cris! You're not alone about the autopilot, I rented a model 3 in Florida and on the longest trip we had to do, the so called autopilot decided that I wasn't holding the wheel either. Turn the wheel a bit left and right and it wasn't convinced.
Tbh, this can take a bit of getting used to. I hang one hand off the wheel and just leave it there. Does the trick, never get nagged, very comfortable.
Also, if AP disengages, when you reverse direction, just pull over, or when waiting at the intersection, put the car into park and then into drive and AP will be available again.
You don't need to put torque on the steering wheel to provide feedback to Autopilot. You can just flick the left scroll wheel up or down, which will do the same thing. It will also avoid any chance of disengaging autosteer.
Unfortunately, that doesn't work in the europe region.
@@Tschacki_Quacki That's strange!
@@dmunro9076 I think it has something to do with UNECE regulations. Has always been like that.
Even my stronger Model 3 LR uses only 160-170wh/km at 130kmh. very weird. also Björn Nyland who runs the most reliable tests of all EVs has better range. And it would help to make yourself familiar with the manual before driving 😂 also 73kWh battery makes no sense. The long range has the 78.8 kWh LG battery and that has 75.6kWh net capacity. that would mean it has already 3.5% degradation which it usually would have after 30-40000km
Part of the battery is reserved for a 'reserve' so 2-3kwh will be still available below 0% hence the apparent degradation. Also this car had the larger wheels which impact the range especially at high speeds and can be 10% less efficient than the areo wheels
Very good news. I like your videossa very much!
Thats weird, my 3 sr at 131 km/h eat about 13-14 Wh/100km…rain and 15degrees C
268km in warm weather on a motorway using the 80% - 10% capacity rule. In winter that will probably drop to 180km or so. It's simply not enough range, sorry. I'll stick with my plug in hybrid.
that is just because he really does not know a Tesla. if you want to have reasonable info on Tesla ranges check Björn Nyland. He has mich better tests and understands how a Tesla works 😂 even the SR is totally fine also for winter but of course the Long Range is better, like the one I have
Why would you care for the 80% cap when you want to go on a long trip? 🤔 So you're doing 300km per day?
@@Tschacki_Quacki I often wonder why they put such large fuel tanks on ICE cars. They are like 55 - 80 litres in size. Why anyone would need more than 20 litres is beyond me.
Turn signal stalks have left the chat
350km down to 10%, it's getting better, few more years and we'll get a solid 400km in any weather because, let's face it, these days the conditions are ideal.
I hope you don't need a loan
OMG - just swipe left/bottom section left, then you'll have driving parameters at your hand....total for trip, since charger etc. Dont you read manuals or at least see some videos How-To before driving? ;-)
Impressive consumption at 130 km/h 😲
Those are the upgraded wheels that give about 10% less range
Very useful range test, thanks for sharing your findings!
Great video, I like Cindy's review much, she should do this more often.
For those wondering the average speed / power draw, the display states an average of 30kWh/100km, at an average speed of 150 km/h. Furthermore, he started out with 80% battery, and reached 21% SoC after having driven 131km in 50 minutes. Extrapolating those numbers: 75% SoC (80% --> 5%) may net you 166.5 km, in 63.5 minutes 95% (100% --> 5%) may net you 210.0 km, in 80.5 minutes My takeaways: Flooring it on long, multi-stint sections in Germany will have you stop every hour. For a single-stint journey under 200km, you can go all out without major concerns other than having a destination charger. For long distance drivers, you'll want to opt for the larger battery, especially given the fact these are spring temperatures. Also, really curious to see the 150km/h numbers, as that might make for a more reasonable balance and compromise between travel time and power draw.
Congrats - Home life and a work life balance in general are very important.👍😊
What do you think about autopilot? I believe Travel Assist is better, and the capacitive steering wheel is a must that Teslas don’t have…
Yup - all of that and more. Plus, you can talk to it to give instructions so you don’t even need to go menu digging for lots of things….you can say things like “I’m too hot/cold” etc and it just works!
The bump is because they used the same platform with a gas engine. Also they added more batteries which is in that bump
Im kind of shocked about the low range even with the bigger battery perhaps you could do a real life comparison between the pro S and the GTX to see if the range really is that much less? Keep up the good work.
Given the criteria I would say the Tesla model Y is hard to beat and at a much lower price than the ID.7.
The mirrors are going away and will be replaced with exterior cameras and interior displays. I believe it is an NTSB mandate for external mirrors. EV makers want the mirrors gone.
Does this new display still work with leather gloves on?
You know... In my country Tesla is good only for solarium. Its not everything software. We have mobile phones for that.
Interessting, Kia eSoul with 2% degradation in 150.000km - probably because of higher hidden buffer?
Your testing convinced me to buy this car. In Thailand at 110 kmph range 620 km at 31°C
I would be very interested in comparison between Model 3 Highland and ID.7. Mainly quality, comfort, noise, TACC. I'm currently driving the Model 3 LR, but ID.7 was my other choice. Missing stalks and "scary" TACC + no reading of speed limits is my main complain of the Tesla
The missing stalks concern is overblown now that there are 3rd party options available for around $500.
@@shou635 I'm scared of disassembling my whole car to add these, possibly violating warranty, just to realize later Tesla blocked them.
I think you are missing the point then. The fact someone must spend €500 on an aftermarket part just to right a wrong by Tesla. Why fix something that isn't broken? It's just cost cutting, plain and simple
@@ClarionCaww I understand it was a cost cutting. I just don't like that bad decision. It's unsafe and inconvenient.
Thank you for your videos! I subscribed to your other channels. Kept it up and take care!
Thanks. 🙂👍
Meh, can see it.. pass
As a Tesla owner I am envious of the VW charging and departure planning software...and its speed sign recognition adjusted cruise control...
Great review. As a Tesla owner, I use voice commands for many functions, such as navigation, climate control, music, so I rarely need to use the screen when driving. The only down side is that there is no list of voice commands in the user manual. So you have to figure out what works or look at youtube videos. The car also stores driver profiles which can be linked to the person's phone and/or magnetic access card. The driver setting saves seat, mirror and wheel adjustments, climate control settings, audio settings, driving aid settings, driving profile (acceleration , steering, braking preferences), brightness preferences, navigation preferences, cruise control settings, Spotify account, etc... This is very convenient if several people drive the car. The only thing you might need to adjust is the central rear view mirror which is manual. There are only two things that I find annoying in the car: automatic wipers which do not work as well as all other brands which use a dedicated sensor and the fact that you have to re-engage lane assist /autopilot every time you change lanes, unless you have opted for the advanced autopilot option which costs 3800 Euros. I'm sure that's a deliberate decision from Tesla hoping people will fork out an additional 3800 Euros.
The automatic lane change honestly is a hit & miss thing, sometimes it will abort suddenly the maneuver in the middle scaring everyone in the car. I had to revert to disengaging autopilot to change lanes when I am travelling with my family
Wow Tesla software is amazing, legacy manufacturers software is missing so many features.
Great video but there are a few things you've missed, which is totally understandable if you've only had the car for a short time. One thing you've missed is that you can share a destination from the Google maps app on your mobile phone with your Tesla. Just search Google maps, click on any destination, then hit the share icon on Google and share it with Tesla and when you get into your car it's already set on the Sat Nav screen. Also, if you tap on any lighting icon on the in car screen it'll bring up a compact lights menu. So you can turn on things like your fog lights without going through the full menus on the screen. If there isn't any light icons already showing on the screen, just flash the headlights and the same compact menu pops up. You also get a compact wiper menu pop up when you press the windscreen washers.
The point of climate keep is to maintain the cabin heating or cooling when you are opening the doors frequently, such as when you are loading or unloading your car. This is especially useful when you want your car to continue defrosting whilst you pop back into your house for something.
Great to hear Cindy’s review. I recently test drove a Model Y and I would say it try’s to feel sporty. It felt unstable to me on rough pavement. I know I am spoiled by the Taycan, but it’s a picture of stability at speed. Hope you can get time in one Chris.
Navigation using voice commands or you can set your destination using your phone and share it with the car. Set your climate to AUTO makes vehicle climate control much easier. You will also notice if no one is in the rear or no passenger the car does not waste energy cooling or heating these areas. You have just discovered the Tesla phone App, but it's been there for 10 years now, but getting better. From the App you can set Valet mode or speed limit, this is useful to limit what an un authorised drive can do if he has stolen your car. No the wiper control is on the steering wheel.
You forgot to mention the frequent updates. In one year we got auto high beam, matrix headlights, 3d parking assistent, new graphics, improved spotify, speed cameras, etcetera.
Hey, and that's even compared to my "old" 2021 model. How's that going for VW? Haha. Even their new ID 7 software is dead on arrival because they said they'd switch to Android Auto.
Aber Ich mag es auch nicht.
